New Teaching Fellow Application

Thank you for your interest in tutoring with Hatch Tutors! The deadline to apply for the Teaching Fellow position is September 7th, 2024 at 11:59pm EST. The application has four short sections and should take no longer than 10-15 minutes to complete. You will be contacted by email by a member of our team within two weeks after the deadline.

The Hatch Fall cycle will be an 12-week program from September 16th, 2024 to December 9th, 2024.

Please briefly list your previous tutoring / teaching experiences, including the number of years. (Note: Prior experience is not required. If this applies to you, please briefly describe why you would like to become involved in tutoring.)

Please review the Teaching Fellow role description and Hatch mission statement. What qualities do you think are important for a Teaching Fellow to have when working with students and families? Please describe instances in which you have demonstrated these qualities.

We expect Teaching Fellows to dedicate at least 1 hour to preparing and conducting tutoring sessions for each student each week. There will also be two hours of required meetings each month for program improvement, professional development, and community building. The Fall cycle will run from September 16th, 2024 to December 9th, 2024. Please briefly describe your ability to meet this time commitment, including any conflicts you anticipate.

Logistics

You have access to a device with good service on which you can conduct phone calls. (While we prefer tutoring sessions to happen over video calls, this is not always possible for some of our students.)
You have access to an institutional Zoom account. This would allow you to host meetings longer than 45 minutes. (This is not required; we will provide access if you do not have it.)
